If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don't have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.                If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing.                If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.                Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with.

Love One Another

“Jesus cried out from the cross, “I thirst!” (Jn 19:28). In this way He reveals His burning desire for love and for being loved by each one of us. It is only when we understand the depth and intensity of this mystery that we become aware of the necessity to love God as promptly as “He loved us”

(Benedict XVI).

Today Jesus knocks at the door of your heart and thirsts for your love. What reply will you give Him?

The following are excerpts from letters of those who have responded to Jesus’ love by joining the Movement of Pure Hearts (MPH):

“I have recently given a lot of thought to my future husband. I do not know who he is. I do not know where he is. I do not know what he is like, but for his sake I want to fight for a pure heart. This thought gives me strength. I already feel the joy that flows from offering him my pure heart” — Bogumila;

 “Although I always went to church, in my heart I was far from God. He waited for me every day, but I was enslaved by sin and unable to hear Jesus calling me. His love has changed my life. I opened my heart to His grace, and He led me in His paths. I give myself to God, that He may sanctify my heart on my journey to eternal life” — Catherine;

“I want to join MPH. I know it will not be easy, but with God’s help everything is possible. For many years I have struggled with the habit of masturbation. I know I cannot master this addiction on my own. A chaste life is so beautiful, and yet I wreak such destruction on it. In joining MPH, I intend to give myself wholly to Jesus” — John;

“I often thought about joining MPH, but I always told myself that first I had to change, restore order to my life, and only then invite Jesus into my well-swept heart. A few days ago, my adviser said something to me that propelled me into action. He said, ‘Eveline, you always try. But you have to do it, not try. Understand?’ I understood then that it was the same with my decision. I cannot wait until the circumstances are right. I must begin to change right now, and Jesus will surely help me. He wants to help me. By putting off my decision, I gain nothing. All it does is keep me from living a good life, from entrusting myself to the Lord and allowing Him to guide my life….I am no longer satisfied with my present life. I am allowing God to take off my dirty tatters. I want to be a child of God dressed in a clean garment” — Eveline;

“I joined MPH on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Can there be a purer heart than the heart of the Mother of God? She is the shortest and only way leading straight to Christ. Her heart is His kingdom, where He loves to abide. It is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, who pours out His gifts and graces a hundred times more abundantly. And this is where He was led me. He keeps His promise. He gives light to those who ask for it. My journey to MPH was not an easy one. But Jesus caught up with me and now He will not let me out of His sacred arms. I am not saying I do not have problems now and then. Sometimes my weaknesses assert themselves more strongly than ever. But what can I fear, if Jesus stands beside me?” — Natalie, aged 15;

“Unfortunately, I have given in to impurity many times. But I believe that just as for the Prodigal Son there was no moment so evil that he could not return to his waiting father, so too in my life no moment is so evil that I cannot begin to live anew in chastity. Yesterday I went to confession and received Jesus. Now I want to belong to MPH” — Wojtek;

“I have decided to join MPH, because without real love, which is Jesus Christ, my life would have no meaning. I do not want people to wound Jesus with their passing pleasures. I know that praying for purity is a gift that we can give to our loved ones and ourselves. Although I am still a child, I know how much evil there is in the world and how hard it is to swim against the current. That is why I want to be enrolled in MPH and receive your prayers of support” — Veronica, aged 12.
