Psalm 37 Christianity. Orthodoxy. Catholicism. Sense of life. Prayers.
Don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.                Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.                Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!                Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?                If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?                Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.                But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?                Don't seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.                For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.                But seek God's Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

Psalm 37

O Lord, rebuke me not in Thine anger, neither chasten me in Thy wrath. For Thy arrows have stuck fast in me, and Thy hand has been heavy upon me. There is no cure in my flesh because of Thy wrath; there is no peace in my bones because of my sins. For my sins have gone over my head; as a heavy burden they have weighed upon me. My wounds stink and fester through my foolishness. I am miserable and utterly dejected; I go mourning all day long. For my loins are filled with mockings; and there is no cure in my flesh. I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly; I roar from the groaning of my heart. Lord, Thou knowest all my desire; and my groaning is not hidden from Thee. My heart flutters, my strength fails me; and the very light of mine eyes is no longer with me. My friends and neighbours draw near arid confront me; and my nearest stand afar off. Those also who seek my life take to violence; and those who seek to do me evil discuss intrigues, and imagine deceit all the day long. But I am like a deaf man and do not hear, and like one who is dumb and does not open his mouth, I have become like a man who cannot hear, and in his mouth has no reproofs. For in Thee, O Lord, I have put my trust; Thou wilt answer me, O Lord my God. For I said: Lest my enemies rejoice over me, and when my feet slip they exult over me. For I am ready for scourges; and my pain is before me continually. For I confess my wickedness, and am concerned about my sin. But my enemies live, and have got possession of me; and those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied. Those who repay me evil for good have slandered me, because I pursue goodness. Forsake me not, O Lord; O my God, be not far from me. Come to my help, O Lord of my salvation.

(And again)
Forsake me not, O Lord; O my God, be not far from me. Come to my help, O Lord of my salvation.
